A Goodly Word as A Goodly Tree...

Al Salam Alaikum wa Rahmat Allah wa Barakatoh

When we talk, or speak, our speech is consisted of what?  A number of words right?  Do you know the importance and effect of this "word" on humans, think about it deeply, and you'll be shocked of its unblievable effect.

There are verses in the Noble Qur'an about this issue:

 (ألم تر كيف ضرب الله مثلاً كلمة طيبة كشجرة طيبة أصلها ثابت وفرعها في السماء تؤتي أكلها كل حين بإذن ربها ويضرب الله الأمثال للناس لعلهم يتذكرون)  سورة إبراهيم (24-25)   .ا

Meaning:

See you not how Allah sets forth a parable?  A goodly word as a goodly tree, whose root is firmly finxed, and its branches (reach) to the sky (i.e, very high).  Giving its fruit at all times, by the Leave of its Lord, and Allah sets forth parables for mankind in order that they may remember.

Besides, Prophet Mohammad, -peace and blessings of Allah be upon him- told us about the danger and sentivity of this word when he said that sometimes a slave of Allah will say a word, that Allah Likes, without noticing its effect, and it'll result in gratification, contentment, and acceptance of Allah till the Day of Judgment.

Further, there are verses in the Noble Qur'an about the effect of the "bad" word, if I may say, :

(ومثل كلمة خبيثة كشجرة خبيثة اجتثت من فوق الأرض ما لها من قرار، يثبت الله الذين آمنوا بالقول الثابت في الحياة الدنيا وفي الآخرة ويضل الله الظالمين ويفعل الله ما يشاء) سورة إبراهيم  (26-27).  1

Meaning:

And the parable of an evil word is that of an evil tree uprooted from the surface of the earth, having no stability.  Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this world (i.e. they will keep on worshipping Allah Alone and none else), and in the Hereafter.  And Allah will cause to go astray those who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers), and Allah does what He wills.

And also, our Prophet, the last prophet for all mankind, told us that sometimes a slave of Allah will say a word, which Allah Hates, without being much concerned about, but this word will result in him/her falling in Hell for seventy years!.

Hence, we should be fully aware before saying anything and we should weigh the word properly before saying it, to safely enter Paradise and be saved form Hell.
